Locks of Love

Bryn has been letting her hair grow since second grade. She had been asking for quite some time to cut it, but Mamma was having a hard time with that one. So after much begging, whining, yadda, yadda, yadda I relented. She decided she would donate those long locks to Locks of Love. And well, that couldn't make me more proud!

Here is an idea of just how long her hair was.

Notice it is in a ponytail and when you take that down it hits the middle of her bottom.

This looks something like a dead animal, LOL!

 Now, for the finishing touches.....

And all done.

She likes her new sassy hair and her mom is proud of the her!

Freshman Homecoming

It is so hard to believe that my baby girl is ready for her first high school homecoming dance! It seems like yesterday she was dressing herself in those sparkly Barbie heels, a pink tutu, and her crown or in her little white dress on her Pappaw's arm for the first line dance at the Artemis Mardi Gras Ball. Where does the time go?

My girl looks so darn old! She and her friends are some beautiful young ladies.

And they are loads of fun too!!

The Before and After

The den was a dark dungeon of 1950's plank paneling. We had lived like this probably 6 years and I had been trying to get my husband to agree to letting me paint it. I knew it could be a beautiful room filled with light if I could just get my roller out! And at last he relented.

So before......

 After a little priming.......

The primer even looks better!

A finished wall in poor lighting!!

A finished area in good lighting. This area now has the bookshelf extended up to balance with the brick wall and the vaulted ceilings.

And a collage of before, during, and after.....

This is the latest picture of the sitting area. I need to get some up to date ones of the rest of the room.

I love the way this room feels now!
